❓ Frequently Asked Questions

What is the River Water Quality Index Project?
The River Water Quality Index (WQI) Project is a comprehensive monitoring system that tracks water quality across major rivers in Bangladesh. We collect real-time data on various water quality parameters and provide analysis to help protect our water resources.
How often is the data updated?
Our monitoring stations collect data continuously throughout the day. The dashboard is updated every 3-6 hours with the latest measurements from each river location.
Which rivers are being monitored?
We currently monitor four major rivers in the Dhaka metropolitan area: Burigonga River, Turag River, Shitalakkha River, and Balu River. We plan to expand monitoring to other river systems.
What parameters do you measure?
We measure pH level, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Turbidity, Temperature, and Conductivity. These parameters provide a comprehensive assessment of water quality.
How can I use this data?
The data is available to researchers, government agencies, environmental organizations, and the general public for research, policy-making, and water management decisions.
Can I report a water quality issue?
Yes! If you observe unusual conditions or pollution in any river, please contact us through the form above or directly via email. We take all reports seriously and investigate them promptly.
How can I contribute to the project?
We welcome contributions from scientists, students, volunteers, and concerned citizens. Please reach out to us to learn about research opportunities, volunteer positions, or partnership possibilities.
Is the data free and accessible?
Yes! All our data is freely available to the public through this dashboard. We believe in transparency and open access to environmental information.
